Journey Towards WYD Seoul 2027: The 2026 Days in the Military Ordinariate of Korea

Praised be Jesus Christ!

Warm greetings to the youth of the Military Ordinariate and to everyone who always remembers and prays for our young faithful.

The World Youth Day (WYD) Seoul 2027—a joyful festival for Catholic youth from all around the world—is fast approaching. In step with this sacred journey, the Military Ordinariate of Korea is steadily moving forward with preparations to ensure that our young military faithful can unite as one in faith and share their joy.

1. Announcement: The 2nd "Days in the Military Ordinariate of Korea” (2026)

In preparation for WYD Seoul 2027, the Military Ordinariate has been hosting the "Days in the Military Ordinariate of Korea" every April since 2025. The upcoming 2nd "Days in the Military Ordinariate of Korea" in 2026 is set to be an even more profound and spiritually enriching gathering.

Days in the Military Ordinariate of Korea will take place at Eumseong Kkotdongnae. It will be a powerful time for approximately 600 to 650 brothers and sisters to come together, reflect on themselves through prayer, and experience the preciousness of our Military Ordinariate community in the Lord.

Dates: Tuesday, April 28 – Thursday, April 30, 2026 (3 days, 2 nights)
Venue: Eumseong Kkotdongnae
Scale: Approx. 600 – 650 participants (including youth, Father and staff)

2. Launch and Updates of the "Military Ordinariate Youth Association”

The Military Ordinariate Youth Association has officially set sail, providing a strong framework for our diocesan youth to lead and raise their voices in active ministry.

The first executive board has been formed, and the inaugural regular meeting was successfully held this past March. The board will meet monthly to solidify the association's foundation. They are currently planning various programs tailored to the unique environment of the military, including recruitment strategies starting this summer and winter retreats for the youth.

This entire process of moving toward the great goal of WYD Seoul 2027 can be completed through the participation and prayers of our youth.

We ask for your continued support and prayers so that the youth of the Military Ordinariate can flourish in their faith, even within the unique circumstances of military life. We will continue to walk together until the day our young people become the light of evangelization for both the world and the military.
